Guy Jacobs
Principal Investigator
Peneliti Utama

Guy uses models and primarily genetic data to study our evolutionary history - adaptation, archaic introgression, cultural practices and demography. He is particularly interested in the role of social behaviour at local scales - kinship practices, migration and movement decisions, social networks and hierarchies, and interactions with domestic animals - impact biological variation, both human and non-human, over longer times and larger geographic scales.

Joseph Lewis is a computational archaeologist with a particular interest in how humans move through the landscape. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Geology from the University of Plymouth and an MSc in Geographical Information Science from the University of Leicester. He is the recipient of the second-place prize from the Royal Geographical Society GIScience Research Group for his MSc Dissertation (2017) as well as holding the best paper prize at GISRUK (2018) from the UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis. For his PhD, he used simulated-based inference methods for understanding the generative processes behind the placement of Roman roads. He is both a Cambridge Trust and Open-Oxford-Cambridge Scholar. Currently, he is investigating the movement patterns of hunter gatherers in Indonesia.
